BEEKEEPING PROJECT REPORT IMALINYI
In January 2014 SAFINA wrote a project proposal and sent it to Global Giving for fundraising. During the March fundraising we received a total of US $ 348.55. The money has been used to manufacture 10 beehives that have been provided to SAITU group. The project is doing well because large colonies of bees have already moved into them and some have already made some honeycombs within.
Our goal is to provide them with 5 days training on proper beekeeping and preparations of honey and its byproducts to the 100 widows. Initially each widow to have 5 beehives, however all beehives would be professionally, jointly cared together by each group. This will give each widow at least 150 to 200 liters of honey valuing at US $ 900 to 1200 annually right there at their village. This is such a great liberation for poor widows. We are very grateful to all who extend their hands towards this cause that we may reach our goal.
