BEEKEEPING FOR 100 WIDOWS OF
IMALINYI DIVISION IN NJOMBE DISTRICT ( TANZANIA).

Dear friends, In the year 2011/2012 our organization conducted seminars on the right of women to own land and property in Imalinyi Division. Among the results of those seminars is the establishment of three groups of widows. These groups are Tupendane from Moronga village which has 40 members, Upendo from Imalinyi village with 30 members and SAITU from Ilulu village with 30 members.

PROMOTING MODERN BEEKEEPING FOR EMPOWERMENT OF RURAL COMMUNITIES. IMPROVING FOREST CONSERVATION IN FOUR VILLAGES LOCATED IN LUPEMBE DIVISION, NJOMBE DISTRICT, NJOMBE REGION

Project no. 2016/CD/M/150 is being implemented in Njombe District, Lupembe Division, Mfriga Ward in four villages of Mfriga, Madeke, Ikang’asi and Itambo.The Project  activities were to prepare a summary and introduce the project at  Njombe District Council, Lupembe Division, Mfriga Ward, and Mfriga, Itambo, Ikanga`si, and Madeke Villages. The second major activity was to facilitate training on modern beekeeping practices to 80 people from eight groups. Manufacturing of 160 modern beehives, distribute all 160 beehives and sitting them inside the apiary sites in the villages. Another activity was to purchase beeswax and facilities for beehives sitting, protective gear, honey sieves for honey processing and equipment for storage. After executing all the above activities, we distributed the purchased equipment to the groups in the Villages and made follow ups in the apiaries. During Monitoring and Evaluation done from January to February this year 2019, we found that 20 Beehives have bees’ colonies.
